During the Ardèche trip, students gain real, hands-on exposure to French culture and language. This includes visits to authentic weekly markets in Joyeuse, Ruoms, or Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. Here, students practice their French with local producers, purchasing regional specialities such as cheese, olives, and chestnut products. A guided market challenge encourages active speaking rather than passive observation.
Explore history and wonder underground
Students will embark on a guided tour of Grotte Chauvet, a world-famous replica cave housing some of Earth's oldest prehistoric art. This unique experience combines language learning with a deep dive into history and art. Additionally, a visit to Aven d'Orgnac, a dramatic underground cave system, offers another opportunity for guided French-language exploration, connecting students with geography and science.
Soak up authentic village life
Time will be spent in one of the Ardèche's picturesque medieval villages, such as Vogüé or Balazuc, allowing students to soak up authentic French architecture and daily life.
